Supervisor/Production Team Leader
Malta
Provide support to the Factory Manager in the day-to-day production of the unit in line with the Company business strategy. The supervisor has a moderate organisational impact that affects one department.
Key Accountabilities
Effective organisation and efficient running of operation
- Coordination of filling hall or control room activities to execute the daily production plan.
- Coordinate and liaise with Control Room regarding the preparation of batch mixtures of products
- Liaise with the production scheduler the programme of each line and pass all the necessary documents to the personnel
- Coordinate and liaise with QC to check line according to specifications
- Ensure that production is being effected according to factory order form
- Monitor stoppages and record the production percentage for each hour
- Timely problem resolution
- Achievement of production targets
- Waste/yield are kept at minimal level
- Continuous improvement metrics (quality, cost and time)
Quality Control
- Ensure quality and consistency of analytical data by providing timely and accurate sampling, testing and release.
- Executing and approving start-up checks and in-process controls checks
Adherence to procedures in line with Company standards
- Ensure that machinery and areas are cleared according to the established procedures
- Conform to health and safety procedures and conduct safety walks while ensuring that operations are being carried out safely
- Ensure that all personnel adhere to safety standards and report any non-conformities
- Ensure for the safekeeping and proper use of equipment while reporting any shortages or deficiencies encountered immediately to Superior
- Maintains quality services by establishing and enforcing organization standards
- Goods are to be stored in appropriate designated locations
Effective Communication between departments and efficient internal support
- Ensure for the communication and handover during change of shift
- Liaise with Production in discussing optimal ways to execute production plan while highlighting any related concerns
- Communicate and liaise with all stakeholders to ensure for sufficient material at all stages of the process
- Report attendance/absence to respective administrative section
- Delegate and allocate work to respective team members
- Report system faults to Engineering in a timely manner
- Share relevant information, ideas and insights
- Build and maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders

Ideal Candidate Profile
Education
- MCAST - Leadership & Management (MQF 4)
- Minimum: Ordinary Level of Education including English Language and Mathematics
- Preferred: Advanced Level of Education
Experience
- 5 years’ experience in a food/pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing working environment, of which at least 1 year need to have been in a supervisory role
- Experience in leading others
Technical Skills
- Production Line schedule planning
- Knowledge of both control room and filling hall activities
- Experienced with GMP, ISO Standards, Safe Food Handling, HACCP practices and HSE guidelines.
- Continuous Improvement Experience/Certification highly desirable
- Ability to show track record of improving production, solving problems and motivating employees
- Choice of procedure and sequence
- A variable thinking capability to handle differing situations that require the identification and selection of solutions within the area of expertise as well as acquired knowledge
