Leading Hand


To assist leader of area in providing a professional service to the company, by leading by example and carrying out admin and area related tasks as required

Key Accountabilities

Effective support to production, stores and turnkey activities 

  • Directly accountable and responsible  for material incoming processes and stock counting activities
  • Prepare and dispatch material as requested by section leader
  • Check that the material is sent/received in a clean and sound condition and report any abnormalities /deficiencies / damages issues to section leader
  • Physically check the quantities being received or dispatched
  • Issue material on the FIFO basis
  • Ensure that the goods are stored in the appropriate designated area
  • Escalate any faults in equipment to the leader of area
  • Ensure daily cleaning of the area is carried out
  • Handle tasks in relation to stock movement, analysis, and verification through the ERP system
  • Analyse usage and variances of raw material as directed by superior and ensure devotions are escalated immediately
  • Train and direct team to ensure that the expected standards are met
  • Deputise in absence of superior

Adherence to procedures in line with Company standards

  • Follow established process and procedures
  • Report any deviations or irregularities encountered to the supervisor and line operators
  • Ensure the correct filling of documentation required
  • Conform to OHSE procedures, and make use of all PPE provided
  • Ensure that all personnel adhere to safe and hygienic standards
  • Ensure the upkeep of equipment used in areas

Ideal Candidate Profile


  • Company Pre-Enrolment  basic test
  • Secondary level of education


  • 2 year experience in a food/pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing working environment
